here's to october.

Hello there!

Okay, I know I know, I've been silent for pretty much the whole of September. But! I have my reasons! I've been super poorly, sad face :( and haven't been able to leave my house much. I've also been working overtime and getting things ready for my return back to University, (today was my first day back!). So I do apologise, but I have a brilliant month lined up so hopefully I'll be able to share it all with you!

I am totally in love with October. Aside from Christmas, it's my favourite time of the year. The weather starts getting crisper, it's acceptable to wear big coats & boots, the leaves turn all sorts of beautiful colours & how can I not mention Halloween! I adore Halloween and everything about it, dressing up, gory make-up, late nights, scary pumpkins & sweets! It's also become a favourite month of mine as it's when I go back to University.

I'm studying for a degree in Animal Science, with a big interest in conservation. My huge, huge passion is animals and everything about them. Ever since I was a little bear, I've dreamed of nothing but a life with animals, chasing after lions (I'm pretty sure they'd be chasing me to be honest) and looking after rhinos & giraffes. Anything animal related and you have my attention.
So, as I previously said - today was my first day back, into my second year. And oh, Lord. Have I got my work cut out for me! I'm so excited and intrigued as to what this next year will bring and I can't wait to share it with you. Now that I'm back I'll probably be boring you with useless animal facts amongst all my pretty beauty posts!

Well, that's enough for now, I'm sure I've bored you enough! I'd better get on with something productive!

Here's to October <3

apologies & eBay.

Hello there,

I'd just like to apologise for my lack of posts at the moment. I have in fact been really poorly and not had a chance to get online, I also keep forgetting to post my Wordless Wednesdays
 :(

As of next week, I promise I will be posting more!

I also thought I'd take this opportunity to post that I've just put a few things onto my eBay account if anyone is interested in having a look. Everything is 99p and most things are free postage. So get buying!

My account name is rose-charlotte :)

kasper.

Today I thought I'd introduce you to my little man.

This is Kasper.

I went through a lot before I got this little fellow, and he is my world.
He is a rosetted Bengal and he is 6 months old in 2 days. He loves raw chicken, chewing my legs & ripping up every toilet roll he can find. He is more than a handful but I wouldn't have him any other way.

How anyone could not like him, truly amazes me.

Do you have any pets?

september wishlist.

So now we're a little into September, I thought I'd tell you what I've got my eyes on at the moment.
I've recently become addicted to Youtube, there I said it, that's the first step towards recovery right? Anyhoo, I seem to have fallen in love with a beautiful little Youtuber who goes by the name of Tanya Burr. Watching her videos has obviously made me want to buy every cosmetic going, but alas, I am a pauper, so I have narrowed it down to 3 things that I want before October - which is when I'm back off to Uni.

The first thing on my list is;

Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayon

I actually went into Boots this weekend to buy myself one of these in the colour 'Fuschia Libre' but as usual in my life, it was out of stock. In fact, all of the colours bar one, were out of stock so this MUST be a good buy. I'm usually a lover of a MAC lippy, but seeing as their £14 a pop, I thought I'd start trying some newbies. And at £7.99 they seem reasonably priced. Hopefully on my next venture into Boots, I'll be able to make the purchase!

Next up on the wishlist is;

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer

Tanya also swears by this and uses it in quite a few of her videos. My bestie, Sian also uses this on a daily basis. Now, I've never used concealer, so I thought, why not? What have I got to lose? I have baggy eyes, so maybe this will sort it out! At just over a fiver I thought this was a bargain as I've seen concealers a hell of a lot more expensive than that!

Lastly;

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm

NOW. Everyone woman and their dog is raving about these, so I'm joining the hype. I'm thinking I'll go for either 'Pink Punch' or 'Cherry Me' as they're the colours that I usually wear. At £2.99 a lip balm, these are a serious bargain. Sometimes in my job, a lipstick can be too strong so these seem as though they're my perfect answer to that problem.

I've never really been a user of drugstore make-up apart from No7 as I'm a big MAC fan but unfortunately I have to kick that habit. So I am now delving into a the world of the unknown it seems to me, hopefully these three beauties will be a good introduction!

Assuming I'm able to treat myself to all of these, I'll give them all a review in October.
Stay tuned!

september.

As if it's September already, what the hell?!

I only have four weeks left till I'm heading back to Uni, and so much to do. I'll definitely leave everything till the last minute, as per. Four weeks is plenty of time, right?

So every month I attempt the Photo a Day Challenge. Do I ever complete it? Do I ever. So I thought seeing as I have this little bloggy thing now, I should probably try and finish it for once.

Instead of posting a photo a day, I'm just going write a post at the end of the month with them all on!

Here goes!

the mortal instruments.

So my pretty much all time favourite book series, is The Mortal Instruments. Originally a trilogy, there are now 5 books in the series, with a sixth to soon be released. I began reading the first book at the start of the year as my best one kindly brought it for my birthday, I finished reading the fifth book not long after that. Addicted is not the word.

Shadowhunters, demons, faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves. Fantasy at it's most extreme. Romance, betrayal, war, magic and humour. It's everything you could need in a book. Falling in love with book characters is an annoying habit of mine, but as soon as Jace steps into the scene in the first book, I was hooked.

So a year ago, no one had heard of this series... Now it seems to be everywhere! And now the first film has been released. Last night I went, along with my favourite lady and both our partners (much to their dismay) to see if the film lived up to our expectations.

As a nerd, I hate it when films miss out bits of the book, which happens almost every time. First half of the film was excellent, they followed it almost to a T, although I didn't like the characters as I'd imagined them to look completely different, but I guess that's personal preference. About half way through, they completely changed what happens. I was sitting there like, WTH is going on? This never happens. And the ending was completely changed, so not sure how they're meant to follow it on. So that kind of ruined it for me.
If I hadn't read the book, the film would of been amazing. But I'm annoying and constantly pick out what does and doesn't happen in the books.

But I have to say, this is honestly one of, if not THEE best book series I have read so far. After the fifth book I felt like the characters were my best mates and Jace was my boyfriend, (I wish).

(Matching MI rune tattoos, because we're nerds - left one is mine)

(Cinema times!)

I'd recommend this to anyone who loves a good fantasy and getting lost in a completely different reality. 10/10 for sure.
